Feline Health Recommendations
Owning a cat comes with responsibilities, and we strive to make that journey easier for each pet owner. We want your pet to be healthy, year-round, and we can suggest these feline health recommendations to achieve wellness in your cat.
General Exam & Vaccine Appointments
Your feline should be examined once every 12 months for any health changes. During this appointment, your veterinarian will recommend which vaccines your cat will need, in addition to their exam. Vaccines may vary cat to cat, based on lifestyle.

Diet & Exercise
It is essential that your pet receives proper nutrition and plenty of exercise. Cats need a balance of protein and carbohydrates, and it is important to know what you are feeding your cat and keep that diet as consistent as possible. Some cats prefer dry kibble, while others enjoy canned food or a mixture of both. Your pet needs to have access to fresh water daily to promote their bladder health.

Heartworm Prevention
Heartworm prevention is as important in cats as it is in dogs. We recommend monthly prevention, as mosquitoes can transmit heartworms to your feline companion, causing an array of symptoms such as coughing, wheezing, nosebleeds, and more. Several heartworm medications are safe to use on your cat every month to prevent them from becoming infected.

Spaying & Neutering
We recommend having your cat spayed or neutered when they are 5 months of age or older. Overpopulation in the cat community is a growing problem in many communities. There are health benefits to having your pet spayed and neutered, such as lowering cancer risks, eliminating frequent heat cycles, and reducing behavioral issues in pets.
